John is a graduate of Niagara University with a Bachelors in Psychology and Philosophy. He currently resides in Buffalo, NY, and considers himself a proud Buffalonian.
He has been playing pipes since the age of 16 at the request of his grandfather.
He learned to play in Niagara Falls, NY, playing local concerts and marching in parades with the MacKenzie Highlanders Pipes and Drums.
He was a member of the Niagara Regional Police Pipe Band from 2009-2014. In his time there he was fortunate enough to win Champion Supreme in grade 4 (PPBSO) as well as the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Championship (ACPBA) and North American Pipe Band Championship (PPBSO) back to back the following year in grade 4.
John currently receives instruction from Ken Eller and occasionally other accomplished pipers in the Buffalo/ Niagara Region. He feels grateful for the opportunity to grow as a player under the leadership of PM Adrian Melvin, and is looking forward to making some great memories with the Greater Midwest Pipe Band.
