Brianna McDonald

Picture
Tenor drummer, Brianna McDonald, is from West
Dundee, Illinois and has been playing for four years. She
has played with Dundee Scottish and Chicago Celtic
pipe bands. Among Brianna’s solo accomplishments:
she is the Regional Champion for Novice Tenor
Drumming with the Midwest Pipe Band Association,
and she won first place in the Novice Tenor Drumming
at Winter Storm in Kansas City in 2014. Brianna is an
accomplished Irish dancer. She is an eighth grader at
Dundee Middle School in Carpentersville, Illinois. She
sings in an all girls’ choir, Bella Voce, and in her spare
time she enjoys singing and drawing. Brianna’s dad made her start drumming,
but now she’s glad he did! Her instructor, Owen Sehon, is the biggest influence
on Brianna’s drumming. The entire McDonald family is involved in pipe bands:
her dad is a piper, her twin sister, Shanna, is a tenor drummer, and her brother,
Ian, is a snare drummer. We can’t forget Brianna’s mom: she is their chauffeur!
